Joseph Grunda
Joseph Grunda was appointed by the court and paid by the state and county to represent Freddie McNeill. At the time, he was self-‐employed in the firm Grunda and Grunda (that he ran with his son). He had previously worked as a Lorain County Prosecutor. His son, Jay Grunda, would later work as a Prosecutor for 22 years before running for Judge.1
Robert A. Nagy was appointed by the court and paid by the state and county to represent Freddie McNeill. At the time of trial, he was in private practice. During the course of his career, he would spend 5 years as Amherst City Prosecutor, 18 and a half years as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Lorain County and 7 and a half years as Chief Assistant Lorain County Prosecutor.2
